Two School Records Fall for Cougars at KU Relays

The opening day at the KU Relays in Lawrence, Kan. was an impressive one for the Cougars as they came away with two school records and one NCAA provisional qualifying time on the first day of competition.

In the men's 5,000m run, USF's Bobby Brockmueller ran a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 14:35.71 on his way to a runner-up finish. Brockmueller's time is the fastest run in the NSIC and the 16th fastest time in Division II this season. Brockmueller also crushed a USF school record by over seventeen seconds that was previously held by his brother, Billy Brockmueller

The records continued to fall as Sierra Harder claimed the school record in the 10,000m run with her time of 38:24.28. Harder finished ninth overall and currently holds the second fastest 10k time in the NSIC.

Jordon Bents also competed for the Cougars on Thursday, coming away with a season best mark in the Hammer Throw with his toss of 162-2 (49.43m).

In the 10,000m run, Matthew Horan finished eleventh overall with his time of 32:11.51. Horan's time is the third fastest time run in the NSIC this season.
