PEORIA, ILL. — The South Dakota State men's cross country team competed at the NCAA Midwest Regional Friday afternoon at the Newman Golf Course.
All seven runners set new personal bests in the 10k at the race.
The Jackrabbits placed 14th of 29 teams in men's 10k race, totaling 387 points. Oklahoma State (63), Tulsa (77) and Iowa State (110) were the top three teams.
Brendan Sage was the first Jackrabbit to cross the line, placing 34th with a time of 30:49.9. The sophomore has finished first for South Daktoa State in every race this year.
Trevor Capra was the next Jackrabbit to cross the line, placing 66th with a time of 31:10.7.
Connor Branick (84th, 31:25.0), Drew Kraft (87th, 31:28.5) and Andrew Thies (124th, 32:06.5) rounded out the South Dakota State top five. This was Kraft's final cross country meet with the Jackrabbits.
Also completing the course were Daniel Pettit (141st, 32:23.7) and Grant VanKeulen (142nd, 32:24.8).
