LINCOLN, NEB. — A day after breaking her own school record in the 60-meter dash, Carly Carper set a school record in the 200-meter dash at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational hosted by Nebraska at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Indoor Track.
Timing in at 24.47, Carper toppled the 200-meter dash record set in 2008 by Heather Wollman. Friday, Carper shaved time off her 60-meter dash record for the third time this season, clocking in at 7.54.
Freshman Renae Dykstra became the first Jackrabbit since 2010 to break into South Dakota State's top five in the 800-meter run, claiming fourth with a time of 2:13.86.
Ashley Odegaard moved up in the Jackrabbit top 10 in the 200-meter dash, climbing to sixth from ninth with a time of 25.27.
In the high jump, Mary Wirth placed fourth with a height of 5-9.75. Friday, Courtney Neubert took second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:39.97.
The Jackrabbits also competed at the Dakota Realty Alumni Meet in Vermillion, S.D. Saturday.
Amy Leiferman broke the school pole vault record, posting a mark of 12-7.25 en route to a second-place finish. Courtney Trapp equaled her personal record in the pole vault with a height of 10-11.75, which is tied for sixth in school history.
Lori Foltz, Sandra Gramer, Jacleen Patterson and Gina Fritz won the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:54.42, the ninth-fastest in school history.
