The body of a Byrnes High School track and field athlete was pulled from an Upstate lake Monday afternoon, according to Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright and Spartanburg Coroner Rusty Clevenger.

Clevenger identified the teen as Markell Tyquann Nesbitt, of Lee Street in Lyman.
Wright said Nesbitt and his friends were having a "swimming party" in the lake off Carshalton Drive when Nesbitt went under the water and did not resurface. None of the youths had done anything wrong, the sheriff said.
