Last year MileSplit caught up with former La Salle Academy, Rhode Island, runner DJ Principe during the indoor season. The four-flat miler took us on a maintenance run with the rest of his La Salle Academy team. Principe now runs for Stanford University.
While in high school, Principe ran the fourth-fastest indoor mile ever by a high school boy with his 4:00.97 from the 2017 New Balance Games. He's only behind Drew Hunter and Allen Webb. Hunter holds the top two fastest times with a 3:57.81 and a 3:58.25.
