Kennedy Blackmon Runs U.S. No. 6 200m In Season Opener

Plano Senior (TX) High's Kennedy Blackmon opened up her season in a big way at the 2018 Texas Tech Under Armour High School Classic on Saturday. Blackmon was the eighth-place finisher at the 2017 UIL Texas 6A state meet, running a 24.21 in the 200m dash prelims. She placed second in the finals running 24.42. Jayla Hollis from the North Texas Cheetahs took home the win running 24.20 only .03 seconds off her U.S. No. 5 mark of 24.17 from the Arkansas High school Invitational earlier this month.
