Why: This record held by Ashley Owens is fast. To put it into perspective, 7.19 would rank fourth right now in the NCAA. This record has stood since 2004 and withstood a lot of great sprinters. The last athletes to come close to it was Mikiah Brisco from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 2014, and Shayla Sanders from Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, in 2012. Brisco ran 7.26 while Sanders ran 7.21. The current US No. 1 time in the 60m dash is held by Arria Minor, who ran 7.30 in early January at the Nite Moves Kickoff. Minor who is only a junior might not be quite in reach of the record this year, but I wouldn't put it out of her wheelhouse in the 2018-2019 season.
