Illinois is clearly the top surrounding state when it comes to the Boys 3200. The top 10 athletes from Illinois were all under the 9:10 mark, a feat only one Iowa athlete was able to accomplish this year. If we remove Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri and Iowa are all very comparable as far as the top 3200 runners in the state. Minnesota has not completed their high school season yet, so we could see some time improvements as their State meet.  Iowa is clearly ahead of Nebraska and South Dakota when it comes to this event.

Unfortunately, we were unable to compare the Girls 3000 to the surrounding states, as they all currently compete in the 3200 meter distance.
