Rapid City Runners Place Well at NXN

On a day when ‘mud’ was the operative word, ankle-deep in some places on the course, Tamara Gorman, Rapid City Stevens freshman and Tony Smoragiewicz, Rapid City Central junior managed to maneuver the manmade and natural obstacles on the course to finish well.

Tamara placed 30th in the Girls Race in a time of 19.37.9 earning the spot as the second fastest freshman. Tony placed 9th in the Boys Race with a time of 16:29.9 to finish as the fastest junior on the course. Look for Tamara wearing bib number 18 and Tony wearing bib number 215 in photos and videos on MileSplit NXN Coverage. Both are wearing white and red uniforms.  Photos from both races are available at https://www.milesplit.com/photos/albums/7694; a pre-race interview with Tony at https://www.milesplit.com/meets/74378/videos?id=13924; the Girls Race at  https://www.milesplit.com/meets/74378/videos?id=13927; the Boys Race at https://www.milesplit.com/meets/74378/videos?id=13926; and complete coverage at https://www.milesplit.com/meets/74378

Tamara and Tony put together remarkable races and seasons.  What fun it will be to watch them during track season and one can only image what next year might bring for the two of them.
