SIOUX FALLS, S.D.
– Augstana kicked off the cross country season in grand fashion by hosting the third annual Augustana Twilight Invitational. While putting on a show, the Viking runners still performed to their high standard.  The women and men each took home the collegiate division titles. Nebraska took both men's and women's university divison titles as the 2013 Twilight Invitational included a pair of Division I teams.

Runa Falch appeared in late-season form as she won the women's three-mile race by nearly 20 seconds, clocking a 16:16.77 time.  Augustana's Adam Braun took second in the college division with a time of 18:45.45 -- the highest finish for any Viking on the four-mile course.

The women tallied 34 points, defeating Dordt College by 31 points.  Gabi Swoboda was the next finisher for the Vikings, placing seventh overall. Three more Augustana women closed out the top five Augustana scorers with Kristin Brondbo, Megan Brown, and Meritxell Delgado finishing 9-10-11 overall.

After Braun's runner-up finish, Paul Yak, Keegan Carda, and Jordan Slusser placed 13-14-15 overall, respectively.  John Klecker finished Augustana's scoring with a 21st-place finish. The Vikings amassed 57 points, tops among Divison II competitors.

The Vikings return to action on Sept. 28 at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota.
