Kyle Blakeslee to Represent USA in the NACAC Cross Country Championships

Freshman cross country runner Kyle Blakeslee, been chosen to represent the United States in the North American, Central American, & Carribean Cross Country Championships, held in Mt. Irvine, Tobago on March 6.
 
Blakeslee qualified for the competition after finishing 11th at the USA Junior Cross Country Championships in Spokane, Wash. on Feb. 13. She ran the course in a personal best, 21:37, and her finish was the best-ever for Augustana at the event.
 
"The Augustana track and cross country program is extremely proud of Kyle Blakeslee's selection to represent the United States at the NACAC event in Tobago," head coach Tracey Hellman said. "To have an athlete represent Augustana College and the USA in an international competition is a huge accomplishment. This experience will be extremely valuable in her future cross country and track and field career.”
 
The top six finishers at the US Junior Championships qualified for the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Bygdoszcz, Poland on March 28, with the next five qualifiers serving as alternates for that race or competitors in the NACAC Championships.
 
Blakeslee will compete in the junior women's 4K. Junior athletes must be under the age of 20.
 
She leaves for the competition on March 3.
