Final Results
The Augustana men's track & field team finished in third place at the 2010 NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday in Mankato, Minn. Five Vikings placed in the top five in their event.
The men had a strong showing in the 5000 meter run.
Matt Braithwaite's time of 14:59.61 earned him a second place finish.
Tom Karbo was fourth with a time of 15:00.47 and
Matt Heesch finished eighth in 15:31.59.
Augustana had three Vikings score in the 1000 meters.
Daniel Black was sixth with a time of 2:33.30 and
Jordan Slusser's time of 2:34.05 put him seventh.
Travis Beniak was eighth with a time of 2:39.48.
Diego Oquendo was second in the 60 meter hurdles and third in the 60 meter dash. In the hurdles, he set a provisional qualifying time of 8.20. He finished the dash in 6.94.
Aduo Omot finished third in the 400 meter run with a time of 49.70, while
Brian Werner was second in the 800 meter run. He ran it in 1:56.05.
Kevin Knapp finished in sixth place in the weight throw, recording a mark of 16.44 meters.
Augustana will now wait to see which provisional qualifiers will be selected to compete in the national championships in Albuquerque, N.M. on March 12-13.
