Six members of the Augustana track team have qualified for the 2010 DII Indoor Track & Field Championships in Albuquerque, N.M., March 12-13.
Cecilie Udstuen was the top qualifier for the Vikings, and will compete in the 800 meter run, the event she won at the NSIC Championships. Her time of 2:11.11 was the sixth-best qualifying time.
Linn Nilsson qualified for the mile run after also winning the event at the NSIC Championships. Her time of 4:55.30 was the ninth-fastest qualifying time.
Augustana's women's distance medley relay team will also be travelling to nationals. They qualified with the seventh-best time of 11:50.46. The team includes Nilsson, Udstuen,
Molly Kokesh,
Caitlin Polgreen, and
Bobbi Jo Buyck.
Diego Oquendo was Augie's lone men's qualifier. He will compete in the 60 meter dash, entering the meet with the 10th-best qualifying time of 6.82.
The Viking women's team just won its first-ever conference championship last week in Mankato, Minn. while the men's team finished third.
