Karbo selected to compete at SPAR European Cross Country Championships

ALBUFERIA, Portugal- Augsutana junior Tom Karbo has been selected to represent his home country of Norway on Sunday in the 17th SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Albufeira, Portugal. Athletes from 33 countries are entered for this year's event.

The championships are comprised of six races and bring together Europe's top runners to compete in a team setting.

Karbo is one of six athletes chosen by Norway to compete in the U-23 championship race.

The Norwegian Federation selected Karbo to run in the championships because of his success as one of the top runners from Norway under 23 years old.

Earlier this season, Karbo led the Vikings to the NSIC championship title after individually taking first, covering the 8K course in 25:19.71.

Karbo was one of four Viking athletes to earn All-America honors at the NCAA Championships last weekend, finishing 27th with a time of 31:28.9 and helping the men to place sixth—the highest in school history.
