GARRETSON — The Madison girls and Garretson boys ran away with the team cross country titles at Tuesday’s Jesse James Invitational in Garretson.
Madison won the girls’ crown with 24 points, well ahead of Garretson (48). Beresford was fifth in the team race.
The champion Bulldogs put three runners in the top four, highlighted by medalist Emily Hawkes in a time of 14:17.28. Mandi Schandelmeier was second at 14:25.75. The top finisher for Beresford was Caitlyn Savey in ninth at 15:56.94.
On the boys’ side, Garretson was first with 24 points, well in front of Lennox (51).
Cameron Harming of Elkton-Lake Benton was first across the line in 17:10.63, followed by Evan Fick of Garretson.
