Brooks Sports Mails Top Athletes ‘Golden Tickets’ Just in Time for the Holidays

Athletes already on holiday break can expect to receive their tickets when they return to classes after the New Year.

 

The Brooks PR Invitational will be held in the Dempsey Indoor on the University of Washington Campus.  The Dempsey is the 80,000-square foot home of Husky Track and Field and boasts a permanent 307-meter MONDO track and a 100-yard turfed field. The meet will include just six events - 60m, 60m Hurdles, 400m, 800m, 1600m, and the 2 mile. Each event will feature eight to 12 of the best high school runners in the country.

 

As with Foot Locker and NXN, athlete travel expenses will be covered and athletes will have the opportunity to interact with some of the fastest runners in the country. Jesse Williams, Sports Marketing Manager for Brooks stated “This meet . . . is an all expense paid opportunity for athletes to run with the best on the fastest track in the US! It’s all about running fast and setting new standards for excellence.  It’s a huge opportunity and a special honor for each athlete who is chosen to compete.”

 

Athletes automatically qualified by achieving one of the following:


  • Running one of the Top 10 Outdoor track times from 2010 in their event or events as reported in Track & Field News
  • Running one of the Top 2 indoor track times from 2010 in their event or events as reported by ESPN Rise (dyestat)
  • Finishing in the Top 10 in ether the Foot Locker or NXN Cross Country Meets the previous year (2010)
