
Despite cold and windy conditions, South Dakota harriers represented their home state well at the Midwest Foot Locker Regional Championship meet on Saturday, November 27 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Three athletes earned top 50 times on the Boys Seeded Race.Tony Smoragiewicz (Rapid City Central junior) finished 3rd in a time of 15:00.90; Tanner Ahrendt (Sioux Falls Roosevelt sophomore) finished 48th in a time of 15:47.90; and Riley Coates (Rapid City Stevens senior) finished 49th in a time 15:48.70. Sioux Falls Roosevelt seniors, Matthew Horan (83rd in 16:07.20) and Ethan Tabbert (142nd in 16:33.10) filled out the top five runners for the South Dakota boys for an 8th place South Dakota Team finish. Smoragiewicz, Ahrendt, Coates, and Horan all delivered personal record performances.
