MileSplit S.D. Elite Series: Poston & Haaland, RC Stevens

State Cross Country Meet in Rapid City at the end of October.&nbsp;</p>

What kind of shape are you in heading into the State Meet?

I feel like I'm in pretty good shape, definitely better than last year. I definitely feel like I'm ready to perform at a high level early in the year.

 

How did your track season go last spring? What were your best times, places or races?

My track season went unexpectedly well. I dropped 49 seconds off my 3200 and 19 off my 1600. Finished with a 10:02 and 4:43

 

What are your goals for the State Meet and into the Post-Season?

My goals are top 12 at state, be on the All-State team and top 75 at NXR.

 

Where do you see your team placing this season?

I can see us, Stevens, placing very well.

 

What did your summer training look like?

Averaging high 50s and low 60s all summer. Peaked at 66/week as of right now.

 

Who do you see as the top individuals in the state (either class, AA, A or B)?

AA -Dehaven, Simmons, Schroeder A- Burns, Witt, Yager B - Kraft

 

What are your favorite workouts?

Speed work on the track because I'm a distance runner without a lot of speed.

 

What is your favorite pre-race: Meal? Music? Routine?

I don't have any specific pre-race stuff I guess. Just a good warm-up/ nutrition and always have my lucky red shoelaces I haven't raced without since 8th grade!

What kind of shape are you in heading into the State Meet?

I feel like I'm in really good shape. I have a lot of miles under me already, and some good speed and strength work as

 

How did your track season go last spring? What were your best times, places or races?

I did terrible in track. I broke my foot that winter and didn't get to run hardly at all 3200 10:34 1600 4:57 800 2:12

 

What are your goals for the State Meet and into the Post-Season?

I want to run 16:15 at state and hopefully go top 10

Where do you see your team placing this season?

Top 3

 

What did your summer training look like?

Lots of miles with strength and speed work mixed in a few times a week. I also swam some towards the beginning of summer

 

Who do you see as the top individuals in the state (either class, AA, A or B)?

Addison Dehaven ‘AA’; Logan Burns ‘A’; Jase Kraft ‘B’

 

What are your favorite workouts?
